So, why is it so dang hard?
Here’s what I’ve seen in my million years of working with women.
There’s always something that seems to be more important. The laundry, the blog post, the kids, the meeting, dinner, … you get the idea. I hear women say ‘later’ to themselves all the time.
Most women I know who are successful at taking time for themselves follow the sage financial advice of ‘pay yourself first’.
Why does something that feels so good sometimes feel so bad? Are you one of the women who got the early life programming that it’s selfish to take time for You? You’re not the only one.
Revising old stories and beliefs is not always easy, but it’s important to ask yourself if the things you tell yourself are REALLY true.
Really? Unless you are the President of the United States I highly doubt this and it sounds like an excuse to me. Perhaps time to yourself won’t entail hours out of your day, but I imagine you can work in a good 20 minutes or a set aside segment once weekly.
Time for yourself is important. I know you know it is. It gives you a breather, allows you to connect with your inner self and your Wise Voice, it allows balance and relaxation, and you get to focus on You and what you want without other distractions.
Do you resonate with these 3 self care roadblocks? How do you or will you make time for yourself? Please leave a comment and let me know.
